By partnering with Organic Ocean, we commit to our customers a consistent and reliable supply of fresh fish caught by the strength and endurance of our fisherman who live and breathe the Pacific Ocean’s fresh waters.

The products come from the ha-houlthee (traditional territories) of Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations where pristine rivers and forest still feed a bountiful ocean.

Gooseneck Barnacles
(c̓aʔinwa)

Known as percebes in Western Europe, gooseneck barnacles live attached to hard intertidal surfaces on the exposed rocky coasts of the Pacific Northwest. The pale pink meat is both tender and flavourful and sought after by chefs around the world. This product is available fresh year-round.

Sablefish
(biišaawx, waan̓uł)

Also known as black cod in the United States, the buttery, white flesh of the sablefish is soft-textured and mild flavored. The sablefish is a deep sea fish species common to the North Pacific Ocean and is considered a delicacy in many countries. This product is not yet available.

Chinook Salmon

Native to the Pacific Northwest, Chinook salmon are the largest species of the Pacific salmon. Chinook salmon are most valued for their nutritious content including high levels of omega-3s. Currently this product is available in the spring and summer.


Halibut

Historically an important food source for many First Nations, halibut continues to be a key element and a dietary staple for many coastal communities. Ultra low in fat content, this species requires little seasoning to allow its fresh taste to come through. This product is available for the first time in the summer of 2016. Lingcod
(tuškuu)

Lingcod are unique to the west coast of North America, with the center of abundance off the coast of British Columbia. Similar to lobster in its firmness, lingcod is a tasty and moist fish that chefs enjoy for its distinct flavour. Currently this product is available in the spring and summer.
